Driving At Its Best!!!
..Now For anyone who isn't totally steeped in BMW lore, the Alpina name might be a bit of a total mystery. But it’s a pretty simple to clear up: The name Alpina is to BMW what AMG is to be to Mercedes-Benz: it's an independent racing and tuning shop that has factory approval by BMW. (AMG is now solely owned by Mercedes.) Alpina, for instance, co-developed the fabulous 3.0 CSL coupe with BMW in the early 1970s and is formally recognized as an automobile manufacturer by the German federal agency.
BMW and Alpina are launching two missiles onto US soils this year with the Alpina B7 and B5. So look out for the B5 as well later this year, I personally call it the Mercedes CLS KILLER!
